Why Crypto Mining Is Harmful to the Environment
Yurie Jiyūbō
Crypto mining sounds futuristic and cool — until you look at what it does to the planet. Every mined coin requires enormous amounts of electricity, and much of that energy still comes from fossil fuels. The more difficult mining becomes, the more machines people add, and the more heat and waste they produce.
Imagine thousands of computers running day and night, burning energy just to solve math problems. No products created, no services provided — just electricity turning into heat.
This means more carbon emissions, more electronic waste, and a bigger ecological footprint with every “block” added to the chain.
So here’s my question for you: do you think crypto is worth the environmental cost, or will we eventually pay too high a price for digital gold?
