Part 2: When My Content Strategy Turned Into WTF
Yurie Jiyūbō
It hasn’t even been ten years, and here’s the second episode of the multi-part drama called How I Tried Content Monetization on a Spicy Platform (And Failed).😉
As you probably remember from the previous episode of this saga, I decided to bring a little bit of “aesthetic” into the adult platform. My version of aesthetic, obviously. Deep down, I knew this approach would most likely hurt my income, but I just wasn’t ready for… certain extremes, if you know what I mean.😅
This is what I'm talking about
The first subscribers finally appeared. Plot twist: most of them were other models, just like me. It turned out to be a sneaky (okay, not that sneaky 😏) psychological trick to trigger mutual subscriptions.
Then uni started, and I barely had time to chat with my fans at all. Most of our conversations happened while I was riding public transport home from university. They entertained me by sending photos of a very specific body part they were extremely proud of… for some reason.😄 For obvious reasons, I can’t show you what they sent me here. Let’s just say that scrolling through messages on a bus wasn’t always the most comfortable experience, if you catch my drift 😄
Interestingly enough, they weren’t nearly as interested in my NSFW content as they were in sending me theirs. Life did not prepare me for that one.
Worth mentioning: the platform immediately takes a 20% cut of the model’s earnings. I spent a long time trying to calculate 20% of my $0.00 income in my head, but one morning I woke up and saw $16 in my balance.📈 I literally panicked — that’s how unexpected it was. Then someone bought a subscription, and things slowly started moving.
So there I was, once again on the edge of giving up… when suddenly my page views skyrocketed out of nowhere.
By the way do you remember that nighttime hallway photoshoot I told you about in the previous episode?

To make my photos more appealing, I decided to use AI tools. And honestly? It was kind of hilarious.🙃 Arms instead of legs. Three arms instead of two. Two faces on one head. Absolute body horror. And somehow, the harder you try, the worse it gets. I strongly suspect this had something to do with me using free AI plans. I mean, come on, I’m not a billionaire’s daughter!😄 (And I don’t know how to mint Bitcoin either.)
At first, the generation looks fine.
But the more you generate, the more glitches and artifacts appear. Extra fingers and random limbs are only half the problem. Table lamps and floor lamps that was a really full-blown disaster. They show up everywhere — where they belong and where they absolutely do not. Multiple lamps at once. Even when you explicitly write in the prompt that there should be no lamps, somehow… lamps. Maybe they’ve fixed this bug by now, I haven’t checked. Either way, I eventually gave up and went back to good old photo editors. Which, as it turns out, are also not exactly simple.
Analyzing the accounts of successful models showed that cosplaying famous game and anime characters is a pretty profitable strategy. But the real money is in straight-up anime characters. And since I had completely run out of content ideas by that point, I decided to experiment with different AI models to transform myself into an anime character.
Something like that
That’s when I learned why there are only a handful of anime models on adult platforms. On literally the second day of my experiment, my account got suspended, and I received an email demanding proof that the images were actually of me — basically, that I wasn’t posting someone else’s photos. After a short back-and-forth with support, my account was permanently banned.😭
And just like that, anime models on this platform are left with no competition. Which kind of explains why they have so many fans.
Long story short, over the course of my fast but very short-lived career, a small sum accumulated in my account. Just a little under $100. And of course, the minimum payout was exactly $100. After my account got banned, all of my hard-earned capital was generously donated to the platform.🙃
I like to believe my humble contribution will go to a good cause. Maybe the executives will add a bit of their own money and finally buy themselves a conscience. 😄
But this is not the end of the story.
If I don’t completely break this blog, there will be one final episode of my virtual adventures.
Stay tuned and leave a comment.😉
